Superman: Man of Steel eyes Antje Traue for Female Villain

Deadline is reporting that German actress Antje Traue is the front runner for a female villain role in Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel. Antje Traue has previously appeared in films like Christian Alvart’s Pandorum, starring alongside Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster and Cam Gigandet; she is currently filming Transfer at Aachen with Paul Warner helming direction. Earlier this month we reported that Michael Shannon was confirmed to appear as villain General Zod (read more here). Although it is yet unknown what part the actress is reading for, we could assume that a female villain alongside Zod would be Ursa, the female character who appeared in Richard Donner’s first two Superman films. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.

Superman: Man of Steel will also star Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Mr and Mrs Kent. Zack Snyder’s reboot is set for a December 2012 release.

About Richard Lennox

I started Filmoria in 2010, simply because I love films and I wanted to write about them. Movies have been formative in my life, and I hope they will continue to do so for many years to come. Now, I'm a father, and I can't wait to share my adventures through film, classics and new, with my daughter. I'm extremely thankful for the many, many wonderful opportunities that writing this site has brought me. And, thank you everyone who has helped me make this website what it is.
