Jai Courtney Cast As McClane Jr in ‘A Good Day To Die Hard’

With less than a year until it’s Valentines 2013 release it’s finally been revealed who will be playing John McClane’s son in Die Hard 5. A Good Day To Die Hard, as it’s been titled, will feature Bruce Willis’ character leaving the US and facing off against a disgraced Russian general. Only this time he’ll be bringing his son along in the shape of Jai Courtney the young Australian star of TV’s Spartacus series. Although something of an unknown at the moment it looks like Courtney’s star is on the rise as he’s also secured a role in One Shot alongside Tom Cruise.

A fifth Die Hard was inevitable, and it’s something of a surprise that a son hasn’t already been introduced into the mix. What the sceptics out there will be thinking is that this is the first step toward re-booting the series with a younger McClane in the lead role. However with Willis already talking about a sixth instalment it could be some time before we see a Willis-less Die Hard movie. John Moore of Max Payne fame is directing number five and there have been rumours of Patrick Stewart stepping into the sensible shoes of that Russian general. We’re sure to hear more news on that front when the film begins shooting shortly.
