Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Peña and Anna Kendrick star in End of Watch, the story of two cops who become entangled in a battle for their lives when they inadvertently pick on the wrong guys during a routine bust. The first trailer is astoundingly intense; fast action combined with extreme close ups, shaky camera combined with home made video images makes really gets you on the edge of your seat – that’s just in the trailer, at least.
Gyllenhaal plays Officer Taylor, a raw street cop with an agenda. His character seems pretty visceral and alongside partner Officer Zavala (Michael Peña) they make for a formidable team. That is until they come up against the Cartel.
End of Watch director David Ayer was the writer of Training Day, The Fast and the Furious and S.W.A.T. He also directed Harsh Times starring Christian Bale, Eva Longoria and Freddy Rodríguez. Here his cast includes Cody Horn, America Ferrera, Frank Grillo, Natalie Martinez and David Harbour.
End of Watch is out 28 September in the US. We’re still waiting on news of a UK release.
