The Hangover turned out to be one of the biggest comedy films in years when it was released in 2009 and inevitably it spawned a sequel following this success. Unsurprisingly, other films since its release have attempted to follow suit with Vegas-style scenarios, excessive drinking and the aftermath of such events being used as the focal point.
Another film to be added to that list is Last Vegas, directed by Jon Turteltaub. Dubbed as ‘The Hangover meets Cocoon‘, the film focuses on four 70-somethings who heads to Las Vegas for one final batchelor party before one of them ties the knot. Already cast are Robert De Niro and Michael Douglas, and today sees Morgan Freeman added to the list of veteran actors.
Whilst sounding very similar to The Hangover, you can guarantee that with the acting prowess of Douglas, De Niro and Freeman this will be one interesting film. One cannot doubt that these guys have all the credentials to make a worthy entry into the comedy genre and news on further additions to the cast look set to impress.
Last Vegas is set for release in the US later this year.
