Warning: This movie is not for the weak-stomached, faint of heart, or easily offended. In Movie 43, comedy is served steaming hot by director Peter Farrelly of The Farrelly Brothers (Something About Mary, Dumb & Dumber) in one of the most original comedies ever made. Starring Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Halle Berry, Leslie Bibb, Kate Bosworth, Gerard Butler, Bobby Cannavale, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, John Hodgman, Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Justin Long, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Chris Pratt, Liev Schreiber, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts, and Kate Winslet, Movie 43 is jaw-dropping, uproarious, outrageous fun.
With such an enormously famous cast, there must have been difficulties trying to get everyone available to shoot the film. Not only this, there is a total of 11 directors involved. When speaking about the length of time it took to make, director Peter Farrelly had this to say:
“This movie was made over four years, and they just had to wait for a year or two years for different actors. They would shoot for a week, and shut down for several months. Same thing with the directors. It was the type of movie you could come back to.”
Hopefully this film will not be another Valentines Day or New Years Eve and will follow in the path of Love, Actually and be a genuinely funny and heartfelt comedy, rather than desperately attempt to get success by throwing in as many famous face as possible.
Catch Movie 43 when it hits cinemas on 1st February 2013.
