Not so long ago we brought you the brand new trailer for Promised Land and now we have the first images from the film which will features Matt Damon in the lead role.
Promised Land will be based on the story by Dave Eggers, with a screenplay written by Matt Damon himself as well as John Krasinski, from the US Office fame, who will also be starring alongside Damon in the film.
Damon also wanted to take the role of director for Promised Land, however, scheduling conflicts meant he had to step down. Nonetheless, he will still produce the film with Chris Moore. Directorial duties have now gone to Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk) and the film will additionally star Lucas Black, Frances McDormand, Rosemarie DeWitt, Titus Welliver and Hal Holbrook.
The film will follow corporate salesman (Damon) as he arrives in a rural town with his sales partner (McDormand) as they try to gain drilling rights. As the town has been hit-hard economically, they wrongly believe the task to be an easy one. However, they meet objection especially from a schoolteacher (Holbrook).
