We don’t have long now to wait until one of comedy’s most anticipated shows returns via Netflix, and recently we found out the exact date of release for Arrested Development Season 4. The show’s creator Mitch Hurwitz has now confirmed that the fourth season of the inspired hit show will hit Netflix on 26th May.
Upon release, we will be instantly treated with 15, yes I said 15, new episodes covering a singular character in each, in what is explained as a simultaneous set of events. According to star Jason Bateman, it could prove to be an ambitious and complicated affair,
It will be extremely complicated for the viewers, 14 [now 15] episodes, all separate, with each character getting their own episode, but all the action happens simultaneously. So you can stop my episode at the very moment that, say, Gob rides by on his Segway and then click into his episode and follow him. I don’t know how Mitchell Hurwitz wrote it, shot it or scheduled it, I don’t know how he’s editing it but it’ll be amazing. I think. And it’s only the first third of a three part story; the second two parts will be in the movie. So this is the first act, and the movie is act two and three. They’re all just asking questions that the movie itself will answer.
Whether complicated or otherwise, the new series will no doubt excite many fans, myself included, and give us the perfect set-up for the as yet-unconfirmed movie following the Bluth family and whatever chaos continues to hit their doorstep.
If the confirmation of a release date isn’t enough for you then simply feast your eyes on the brand new poster promoting the upcoming Netflix-exclusive series and prepare yourselves for the return of one of America’s most dysfunctional and hilarious families.
