Filmoria’s Editor is running to raise money for Children with cancer and Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Hey. How’s it going?

I’m Filmoria’s Editor-in-chief, Richard Lennox. Sorry for hijacking the film news, but I just wanted to talk to you about something important for a second.

As a massive film fan, I spend quite a bit of time on the couch or in cinema seats watching movies.  But this year I wanted to do something charitable, so I have decided to get off the sofa and to get outside and raise some money for charity by running.

Although I have run for leisure in the past, I’m not a big runner by any stretch of the imagination. For instance, I didn’t run at all in 2014, prior to finding out that I had a London Marathon place, which happened a couple of days before Christmas.   I have never completed a half marathon, yet alone a full marathon, so this is quite an undertaking for me.

In 2015 I will be running the  London Marathon (April), the Silverstone Half Marathon (March), and the Wymondham 20 Miles (March).  That’s a total of 59 miles of running.

I’m raising money to support two very important charities: Children with Cancer UK and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  I’m attempting to raise £1000 for these worthy causes.

I’m reaching out to all readers of Filmoria to help support me in my goal. All donations will be appreciated. If you can spare just £1 then I’ll be one step nearer to my goal and you will have helped two very worthy causes.  If you can spare more then that would be incredible.  I will be uploading a new video every week with an update on my progress and I will personally thank everyone that makes a donation.

Please visit my donation page at Virgin Money Giving and don’t forget to leave your name so that I can mention you in the weekly shout out.

I really appreciate any and all support that you can give and thank you for any donations.  Please share this page on Facebook, Twitter or any other social channels to get the word out.  Thank you.

About Richard Lennox

I started Filmoria in 2010, simply because I love films and I wanted to write about them. Movies have been formative in my life, and I hope they will continue to do so for many years to come. Now, I'm a father, and I can't wait to share my adventures through film, classics and new, with my daughter. I'm extremely thankful for the many, many wonderful opportunities that writing this site has brought me. And, thank you everyone who has helped me make this website what it is.
