Carell & Stone Serve Up A Storm In Battle Of The Sexes Trailer

Arriving online this evening is our very first look at the forthcoming biopic, Battle of the Sexes.

Starring Steve Carell and Emma Stone, alongside the likes of Sarah Silverman, Bill Pullman, Andrea Riseborough, and Alan Cumming, the new film is based upon the famous tennis stars Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King.

The infamous 1973 tennis match between world No. 1 King and retired champ and serial hustler Riggs became one of the most-watched televised sporting events of all time. The match sparked a global conversation on gender equality, spurring on the feminist movement, while King and Riggs fought more personal and complex battles — King with her sexuality and her plight for equal pay, and Riggs with protecting his reputation while reliving his glory days.

Penned by Simon Beaufoy, and directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the film is scheduled for a September unveiling. Check out the trailer below…
