Jason Momoa’s Frontier, a six-episode period drama, has had its Netflix release date confirmed.

The show, created by Rob and Peter Blackie, is about the violent struggle between vying factions in the 1700s Canadian fur trade. It will be launched on Netflix on 20th January 2017.

Alongside Momoa, Frontier also stars Landon Liboiron, Alun Armstrong, Zoe Boyle, Jessica Matten, Allan Hawco and Shawn Doyle.

Frontier began airing on Discovery Canada on 6th November but was already renewed for a second season in October, showing some real faith in the series. Netflix has committed to showing both 6-episode seasons.

2017 looks set to be a very big year for Momoa, as we’ll also see him properly introduced into the DCEU, where he’ll be reprising his cameo role from Batman V Superman as Aquaman in Justice League.
