Mara and Redgrave Star In First The Secret Scripture Trailer

Already making its bow at this year’s TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and LFF (London Film Festival). Voltage Pictures have now released the first trailer for the star-studded film adaptation of The Secret Scripture.

Originally a book written by Sebastian Barry, it is now brought to the big screen by Jim Sheridan, the Irish director behind the likes of In The Name Of The Father, My Left Foot and Brothers.

Played by both Rooney Mara (Carol) and Vanessa Redgrave (Coriolanus) at different stages in her life, the film revolves around Roseanne McNulty whom in her twilight years has been confined to a decadent mental health hospital, with Eric Bana’s (Hanna) psychiatrist on hand to assess and unravel the startling details of her formative years in 1940’s Ireland.

Also boasting the male trio of Divergent‘s Theo James, Sing Street‘s Jack Reynor and Poldark star Aidan Turner, you can view the trailer below!
