The highly anticipated Netflix original series House of Cards is returning May 30, and the official trailer has just been released. The political drama starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright left many fans awaiting a delayed Season 5 release, as the last two seasons had a release date around the beginning of March.
The series has been a massive hit with its distinct narrative style and daring subject matter, making it extremely relevant in today’s political climate. It will be fascinating to see how closely tied Season 5 is linked to real life events, as Season 4 portrayed many controversial topics very well, such as the conflict in the Middle East and wiretapping.
The trailer shows a continuation of the heated battle between Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and the popular Republican Will Conway (Joel Kinnaman). Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) was also featured heavily in the trailer, in response to her notable uprising in the show; also representing the power couple as a more united front, leaving the end of the trailer with the both of them in a very power hungry state. Expect to also see military action, protesters, and a lot more scandals in the latest season of House of Cards.
