Explorer, presenter and wildlife conserver David Attenborough is the person most in need of a biopic, according to research from ODEON.

The 92-year-old natural history documentarian has lived a life of adventure – from losing himself in the Amazon Forests and wrestling wolves in Argentina, to meeting Barack Obama and being knighted, Attenborough was voted as the most popular choice (37 per cent).

David Bowie coming in a close second (30 percent) and novelist and philanthropist J.K Rowling following in third (22 percent) as the top female biopic choice. Other competition included Madonna (13 per cent), Bob Marley (21 per cent), Paul McCartney (16 per cent) and Meryl Streep (12 per cent) while Elton John (16 per cent), Mick Jagger (12 per cent) and Donald Trump (11 per cent) also made the top 10.

This October sees the release of two hugely anticipated film biopics – First Man (12th October) starring Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (26th October) starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, and to celebrate ODEON has polled 1,000 film fans to find whose life Brits really wanted to see come to life in a movie on the big screen.
Other strong contenders who just missed out on the top 10 include football legends Gazza and David Beckham, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Boris Johnson MP and Prince.
