New details have been released regarding the home video release of Another Mother’s Son, directed by Emmy-nominated Christopher Menaul (Killing Jesus, Summer in February) which will be released on DVD and Digital HD 17th July 2017.
The film is based on a true story set in World War II on the Nazi-occupied island of Jersey. Louisa Gould (Jenny Seagrove, whose credits include Local Hero, A Shocking Accident, and A Woman of Substance) is a largely unsung hero of the war. Under the Nazi regime, Gould was a simple shop keeper charged with delivering rations to her undernourished community. While working, she learns that one of her sons has been killed in battle. At the same time, a young Russian man escapes from a German POW camp, and Louisa is compelled to look after him.
Louisa Gould, along with her brother and sister were amongst the first recipients of Her Majesty’s British Hero of the Holocaust Awards in March 2010.
The DVD features include a featurette and interviews with the cast and crew, and the film’s running time is 103 minutes.
