Imprint-X Puzzle Game – First Impression

We have been in need of a new puzzle game for a while now. Portal 2 came and went and the Tomb Raider and Unchartered franchises are a bit more action orientated than perhaps a true puzzle fanatic would like.
Step forward please, Imprint-X. Mix a great idea with a truly puzzling game and you’ve got our winner. A virus has taken over some peoples brains, and you are there to clear the viruses through a bunch of mini games. Except, you don’t really get any help – it’s all left for you to figure out, mechanics-wise.
Morgondag – the developers, seem to put a lot of thought into the visual style and feel of the game. This certainly shows and comes across well, as the game captured me from the first moment i played it. The crazy idea and the great art style, quirky animations and retro pixel feel – I think they have done a great job.
Don’t be fooled by the seemingly simple mechanics of the game at first. After you get used to the idea of each mini game, it seems to ramp up the difficulty, and the end of the first ‘level’ is quite fun in it’s complexity.
First impressions – the game seems a little incomplete, like it’s missing something. I have no idea what it’s missing, but the absence of something is evident. Perhaps that’s the way the developers want it to increase the ‘unknown’ element of the game. We’ll just have to wait and see upon release.
Imprint-X will be released on 26th January and will be available on PC and Mobile.
