Barry Jenkins' critically-acclaimed drama Moonlight scored big at the Gotham Awards. Check out what prizes it claimed right here. Moonlight Rules The Gotham Awards

Recently picked up by Altitude Films for its UK release in February, Moonlight has already made a lasting impression on the festival circuit with its tender coming-of-age narrative of one African-American man struggling to come to terms with his sexuality in the 1980s.

Taking place in the heart of New York at Cipriani Wall Street, the Barry Jenkins effort starring Naomie Harris (Spectre) and Mahershala Ali (Marvel’s Luke Cage) dominated this year’s Gotham Independent Awards, scooping four wins including the much-coveted Best Feature.

Picturehouse Central in London is hosting an exclusive preview screening of Moonlight on Monday, 5th December with Barry Jenkins in attendance for a Q&A. Tickets can be purchased here.

An annual awards show which is now in its 26th year, there were also significant nods for Kenneth Lonergan’s critically acclaimed drama Manchester By The Sea (released in the UK from 13th January 2017) with Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone) winning Best Actor and Paul Verhoeven’s (Total Recall) new film Elle (in UK cinemas from 10th March 2017) screen starlet Isabelle Huppert (Amour) as he won Best Actress for her latest performance.
