Paragraph Pictures and GSP Studios announced today that Natasha Little (The Night Manager, Thirteen), Douglas Hodge (Tony winner for La Cage Aux Folles), and Colin Salmon (Limitless, Die Another Day) will star in the new comedy-drama The Bet from writer/director Joan Carr-Wiggin (If I Were You, Happily Ever After).

In The Bet, a woman (Natasha Little) makes a bet with her husband (Colin Salmon) that she can get the next man she sees to propose to her.  The subject of this experiment is Albert (Douglas Hodge), a lonely man who comes to life when he believes this wonderful woman is in love with him, only to discover that he’s been tricked. The film is shooting on location in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Writer-director Joan Carr-Wiggin said: “Natasha Little, Douglas Hodge, and Colin Salmon are any director’s dream cast, and we’re thrilled to have them on board.  They are all equally adept at comedy and drama and are perfect to bring these complex roles to life.”

The Bet also stars Linda Kash, Joseph Kell, Katie Boland, and Alex McCooeye.

The Bet is being produced by David Gordian for Paragraph Pictures and Alan Latham for GSP Studios.  Financing includes the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund and Premiere Picture of the United Kingdom

Alan Latham, Managing Director of GSP Studios, said: “The Bet is a very clever idea and GSP Studios is delighted to be working with the brilliant Joan Carr-Wiggin for a fourth time.  With a great cast assembled, we have great expectations for this feature when it’s released next year.”
