If there’s one person that you wouldn’t immediately associate with cutting dramas and powerful, emotional performances it’s Arnold Schwarzenegger. Away from the world in which Donald Trump mocks him for his own version of The Apprentice, Darren Aronofsky-produced Aftermath sees the action star in a very different role to what we are used to and it looks like an experience that is sure to cut deep with its dramatic presence.
Starring Schwarzenegger and Scoot McNairy, Aftermath deals with events based on true life in which Arnie’s Viktor is devastated by the death of his wife and daughter following a plane collision caused by McNairy’s Paul Bonanos, an air traffic controller whose moment of recklessness causes the staggering event. Looking to find a way to cope with his grief, Viktor looks to confront the man responsible for the death of his family face-to-face.
The trailer is subtle in its delivery but certainly promises that this is a one-of-a-kind performance from Schwarzenegger and one not to be missed. The star already showed his acting chops in Maggie not too long ago but this looks like he’s going above and beyond to show the world there is much more to him than guns and one-liners.

Aftermath is set for release on April 7th and also stars Maggie Grace and Hannah Ware.
