The Coolest Casino Movies of All Time

There was a time when casino movies were an all-time favorite amongst the young and old, both. While there are several inexplicable and some very personal reasons to it, the one thing that attracted the crowd (or still brings in a lot of followers) is the thrill of gambling and seeing those chips growing tall and wide! The video slots Australia and elsewhere remind us of these movies and all the action-packed sequences.

The winning streak or the losing patch, whatever it is, we all love to gamble, one way or the other. And where other than the casinos to indulge in a little past time to try our luck? After all, as they say, life is a gamble – why not spend a few hours in the video slots to get it right?

Well, we are getting a little distracted here. Our aim is to search our memories for some of the coolest casino (read: gambling!) movies that we enjoyed or still do! One movie that comes to mind is the ‘Rounders’, a pure and all-in-all casino movie for those new pokie machines fans around the world!

Although the movie comes with several subplots to the main plot, what with KGB and other factors involved, the focus is on Mike’s (the hero) ability to play poker. The whole story was themed around casino, and all that comes with it – the enmity, the winning and losing streak, compulsive gambling and such.

What makes it all the more attractive in all this is the poker game itself- nothing beats the roll of a dice – not even the modern and high-fly machinery. Nothing at all like the modern, state of art new pokie machines available now, but still as attractive as ever.

Although the ‘casino’ based movies are a passé now, or almost so, we still love these movies where the casinos are the prime focus. The Casino Royale, for instance, is worth mentioning too! And being a Bond movie, it attracts the further attraction of all casino lovers across the globe.  Again here, we see high stakes and winnings and action scenes to make it all the more exciting for casino fans.

There are many such casino movies worth mentioning and more. There are some of us who just love to watch a movie or two on the casino and better still, try a hand at the game.

Although the whole aspect of the casino has changed now, what with new pokie machines and modern video slots, their essence and interests remain the same. So, let us just hope that the stakes remain high as ever and the bankroll multiply and the banker remains bankrupt forever!
