What a way to kick off the week with one hell of a trailer by way of Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
We’ve already been privy to some beautiful images from the much anticipated 2017 release, as well as a teasing trailer, but today’s latest look at the film really is something else. Opening with a fight between Ryan Gosling’s K and Dave Bautista’s brutish and ageing character, the trailer swiftly moves to introduce the faces involved in the ambitious project, ranging from Jared Leto in full-blown villainous mode, to the returning Harrison Ford, and the likes of Robin Wright and The Walking Dead‘s Lenny James.
If there were any doubts creeping in regarding Blade Runner 2049 then this trailer surely quells them all!
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks.
Blade Runner 2049 is released in UK cinemas on 6th October.
