British writer and director Jordan Handford is looking to make waves on the independent film scene this year and beyond, with the official release of his debut short film.

Following his poignant take on mental health in the currently unreleased Betty, Handford has unveiled his first short from last year online for the first time – titled Capricious.

The film, directed and co-written by Handford, tells the story of a young man (Andrew Joshi) – as he sets out to exact revenge after a terrible tragedy.

Handford’s eclectic background in film/performing arts encourages a refreshing diversity, as he continues his foray into filmmaking. From his continued acting work in theatre; particularly in comedy and musicals, to his appearance in Kenton Hall’s charmer A Dozen Summers, and upcoming roles in John McCourt’s Arrivals and indie feature The Fort. The Leicester native is certainly hoping to bolster his way through the ever growing independent British film industry.

You can follow Jordan on Twitter, and also check out the prologue for the Arrivals web series here.

The 20 minute short, Capricious, can be viewed below.
