Academy Award-nominee Tom Hardy has signed on the line to appear in Netflix’s forthcoming Original Movie, War Party. The streaming service placed a seven-figure bid to secure the rights to the project, which will be directed by The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’s Andrew Dominik.

Dominik will also co-write the screenplay with Harrison Query, whilst Sir Ridley Scott and his production company Scott Free Films, will rejoin forces with Hardy following their work together on BBC and FX’s primetime period drama, Taboo.

War Party details are being kept in a suppressor, but it is described as a being based on true events and centers on real-life Navy SEALs. Life rights were a key part of the deal.

Hardy has a very busy schedule ahead of him, with key roles in Christopher Nolan’s hugely-anticipated Dunkirk (one of our 20 Must-See Movies Still to Come in 2017), in addition to J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier, and Josh Trank’s Fonzo.

Stick with Filmoria for much more on War Party as it develops, and indeed all other Netflix properties!
