2018 Remakes You Must Watch

If there is one thing our society is addicted to it is probably nostalgia.
Thinking about our past is something we all tend to do, whether we talk about politics, books, or movies. Truth be told, there is nothing better than reliving the same moments that used to make you happy over and over again.
That is why bringing up things from the past is a tactic that marketing experts use relentlessly, as they know it will catch the attention of the crowds – and they are not wrong.
Wherever you look, you can see traces of the past laced in the fabric of the new and modern. You have books that feature characters from well-known classics while the writers try to put a modern twist to the plot, there are plenty of computer and online games that feature famous movie or book characters, and more.
For example, if you are into this kind of thing and you like to remember the good old days, you might find that there are a few games available to you at any Vegas online casino that will feature all your favourite character, which can turn every gambling session into an enchanting walk down memory lane.
Another aspect of our culture influenced by the obsession with anything old is the movie industry. Nowadays, there are countless remakes and reboots of older movies and TV shows that used to be popular. It seems as if the creators count on the fact that people will automatically love the new versions because of their devotion to the origin.
And of course, they are right because there is nothing better than watching your most beloved characters come to life once again. So which remakes should you watch out for this year? Prepare to spend a lot of time at the local theatre in the upcoming months!
What to Watch
1. Robin Hood – Plenty of movies in the past few decades told the story of a heroic outlaw that steals from the rich to give to the poor, so the scriptwriters have to work hard to come up with new twists in the plot that will catch our hearts. This time, the story will focus on a younger Robin Hood played by Taron Egerton, and the cast will include other stars such as Jamie Dornan, Jamie Foxx, Eve Hewson, and more. Hopefully, the movie will be packed with action and will be fun to watch!
2. Overboard – The original movie was released back in 1987, and people fell in love with it right away. In the original version, a spoiled heiress cheats over her carpenter, and after getting into an accident and suffering from amnesia, the carpenter pretends that he’s her husband to get back at her and to force her into a working-class lifestyle. In the remake, the roles are switched with the male lead-role being the rich and cruel one. Hopefully, this twist will prevent fans from comparing the new movie to the original one and they would be able to enjoy it that much more.
3. A Star Is Born – The original film with this title came out in 1937, and since then it already got two remakes. This time around, superstar Lady Gaga and the phenomenal Bradley Cooper are going to take part in the project, and with a new and original soundtrack, this movie is supposed to be a blast.
4. Mowgli – Even though it has only been two years since the live action version of ‘The Jungle Book’ came out, it seems that the world is ready to meet the man-cub once again. This time, the writers are going to stick closer to the book’s plot, which might be a good thing or a major let down – only time will tell.
In Conclusion
There is nothing more soothing than getting a blast from the past in the form of a good movie, especially if you are fond of the original. This year, there are a lot of remakes coming to the theatres, so you only have to wait for them to be available before you can enjoy the nostalgia.
However, if you are reluctant to wait months before you can get your hands on another version of your favourite movies, you can get your daily fix somewhere else. If you are interested in exciting and unpredictable sources of entertainment, you can always enjoy playing online casino games with movie-based themes that you admire.
That way, you will be able to combine your love for old movies with a thrilling activity, and there is no match for that! So buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride down memory lane.
