Gore Verbinski’s forthcoming return to a genre he understands so vividly – psychological horror – is shaping up to be one of 2017’s must-see films. Thanks to the good folks at 20th Century Fox UK, we have a brand new clip from A Cure For Wellness to showcase, along with two new (and extremely creepy) TV spots…
The clip – entitled “Tank” – sees DeHaan’s Mr. Lockhart become slowly submerged in a sprawling tomb of water, as Jason Isaacs’ macabre doctor offers him ‘advice’ during the process. The claustrophobic setting, which traps him in a pit of rising fluid, is beautifully and terrifyingly shot, and made all the more unsettling by Dr. Volmer’s (Isaacs) dialogue. Check it out here, and see the new trailers below, too.
An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure. From Gore Verbinski, the visionary director of THE RING, comes the new psychological thriller, A CURE FOR WELLNESS.
A Cure For Wellness opens in UK cinemas on 24th February, and arrives a little earlier in the US on the 17th.
