Earlier this week, it was confirmed that the much-anticipated (and currently untitled…) new James Bond film will receive its release on 8th November, 2019. With this in mind, MGM are currently circling directors for the forthcoming flick – which is set to see star Daniel Craig reprise his role as 007.
Three frontrunners have emerged to take the reigns from Skyfall and SPECTRE director Sam Mendes, including Arrival and Blade Runner 2049‘s Denis Villeneuve. The Academy-Award nominated filmmaker is joined by David Mackenzie of Hell or High Water fame, and emerging British talent, Yann Demange who exploded onto the scene with his brilliant ’71 starring Jack O’Connell.
The producers at MGM are also rumoured to be “determined” to bring back Adele to record the theme tune after singing the lead track on Skyfall — the first 007 theme to win a Grammy and a Golden Globe award.
Bond 25 will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have both penned the entirety of Craig’s run as James Bond.
