Ahead of Beauty and the Beast‘s forthcoming UK release later this month, the kind folk at Disney UK have launched this magical featurette detailing the film’s everlasting heroine; Belle.

Played by Emma Watson, the Disney Princess is described as a wonderful role model for young girls, and as a fearless female figure who is focused on discovering who she is, and her place in world, as opposed to simply marrying and being cared for by a male counterpart. The character is a perfect reflection for Watson herself, who stands as a beacon for women’s rights as a Good Will Ambassador. Check out the new video below.

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Directed by Bill Condon of Dreamgirls fame, and featuring an spellbinding supporting cast including Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, Gugu Mbatha-Raw Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts, Beauty and the Beast waltzes into UK cinemas on 17th March.
