Following the surprising (and most welcome) announcement that Sicario star Josh Brolin had been cast as the popular X-Men character Cable/Nathaniel Summers, many have been waiting for a look at Brolin fully realised as the fan-favourite mutant.
With regular updates on social media of Brolin’s workout regime and subtle cosmetic changes becoming noticeable, we’ve been given a very small glimpse into what the end result could be.
But today, Deadpool 2 co-star Ryan Reynolds posted the first official images of the actor in full Cable get-up on Twitter. Sporting his iconic cybernetic enhancements, eye scarring, and a silver streak running through his hair – a nod to Cable’s signature do in the comics.

Whilst Fox have taken a more stripped back, militarised approach with their iteration of Summers compared to most of the comic counterparts – Brolin looks absolutely incredible here. And we can not wait for the first trailer to drop to see him in action….

The sequel to 2016’s acclaimed Deadpool will hit UK theatres on June 1st 2018. Joining Reynolds and Brolin are the returning Morena Baccarin, T. J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapičić. Along with newcomers Zazie Beetz, Jack Kesy and Julian Dennison. Deadpool 2 will be directed by David Leitch, from a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
