We’re massively jealous of anyone attending SXSW which is currently taking place Austin, Texas up until March 19th as it means they’re the lucky ones who are playing witness to some superb movies, tantalising footage and even their fair share of television offerings. One such offering comes in the form of HBO’s Game Of Thrones, with showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff attending a panel this past weekend.

With the upcoming Season 7 firmly on the minds of fans following that very brief yet exciting teaser trailer last week, the showrunners took to confirming just how much of the show we have left to saviour. We already know that this coming season will showcase a shorter 7-episode stint, with the likelihood of longer runtimes for each, but they have now 100% announced that the final season will comprise of just 6 episodes.

While that confirms the earlier notion of 13 episodes remaining for one of the greatest television shows of our era, it does also pose the question as to how long we have left with the show. The longest episode so far has clocked up 69 minutes, but with so much still yet to be told one can imagine that these will serve as more extensive and longer episodes to feed the fan demand for a cohesive and satisfying conclusion.

As we now know that we officially have just 13 episodes left of Game Of Thrones we can continue speculating just who will end up the ultimate victor and sit in all their glory upon the Iron Throne. Will the ruthless Cersei Lannister stand her ground after Season 6’s groundbreaking conclusion or is there someone else waiting in the wings to put it all on the line for ultimate victory?

We’ll find out how the story continues when Game Of Thrones returns on 17th July.
