No matter what kind of event whether a wedding or a child’s birthday party a photo booth is all the rage. You can create one good booth with backdrop and props for an event or a photo booth hire is also an option. In this guide, we will guide you through the whole process.

Some of the Materials You Need

  • A Digital Camera
  • Tripod
  • Backdrop
  • Nails and Hammer
  • Clamps
  • Shutter release remote
  • Lighting
  • Tape

Camera Equipment

You can go for a simple point-and-shoot camera or can use a professional DSLR for your photo booth. Also, you need a shutter release remote and tripod tall enough for the camera. You can easily find both of these things online or in a camera shop. Remote for shutter release is very useful for taking your photo. There are two types of remote wired and wireless. If you want to you can let the guests use their smartphone. I mean everyone has a smartphone these days. It will also mitigate the risk of camera loss or theft.

Lighting

Lighting is very important for a professional-looking photo booth. You can go to a photography umbrella or spotlight for these purposes. A camera flash is an option but it is not enough in case of low light. You can also use studio lights but they are expensive. If natural light is present then use it but keep the lighting system spare.

Backdrop

The backdrop is the key element for a DIY photo booth. Without a great background, pictures will look very dill. You can use your creativity by using a natural scene or make something from scratch. You can use a simple one or a fancy one according to the event demand. Moreover, pre-designed backdrops are available online. If you are going to design it yourself then it is the best chance to make everything according to your wish. I recommend you to use a layered backdrop instead of a flat wall.

A printer is Also an Option

You can make your photo booth more fun by adding an instant printer. It will allow your guests to print photos instantly from their smartphone. For this, you need instant film cartridges. The amount of them will depend on the event. It is not very costly as compared to hire a photo booth. Some of the printers have an app to take out print. The guests have to install the app and then upload their picture to the app done. You need to make sure that you have enough film for the event.

Get Some Props

You can also add props to the photo booth such as toys, inflatable pool floats, and toys. You can add anything that you think will be interesting and fun for the guests. Also, you can use special props according to the needs of the event. Some of the people have animal masks, jewelry, and sunglasses too. Sometimes weird things look more unique and fun. So, do not forget to have props too in the DIY photo Booth.
