

Guillermo Del Toro Has Some Bad News…

For the past few years, there has been plentiful musings from acclaimed Mexican auteur Guillermo del Toro that a resurrection of his Hellboy franchise is in the works. The rumoured Hellboy 3, which sparked much interest in recent months following a Twitter poll and conversation with leading actor Ron Perlman, seemed to be very much on the cards.
Sadly however, the director once again took to the social media platform with a twist of fate: the film will 100% not be happening, much to cult audiences’ heartache.
Hellboy 3 Sorry to report: Spoke w all parties. Must report that 100% the sequel will not happen. And that is to be the final thing about it

The first Hellboy movie was released in 2004 and earned $99 million worldwide, while its 2008 sequel, The Golden Army, earned $160 million. Despite relevantly low box-office performance, the films maintained a hardcore fan base which has continued to grow across home entertainment platforms. With today’s news, we are going to have to get used to the idea of a trilogy being just that…
