Award Winning Documentary filmmaker Lisa Rideout’s One Leg In, One Leg Out is an honest portrayal of a transgender woman who is forced to become sex worker and grapples with making a career change. Having just begun its festival run, this eye-opening short is already winning awards and being selected for high profile film festivals.
A lively, strong-willed sex worker struggles to move from the streets and into a career as a social worker, hoping to help fellow trans sex workers find acceptance.
Director Lisa Rideout is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Her innovative approach to documentary storytelling and emphasis on striking visuals has garnered her films multiple awards and nominations, including the 2018 Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Short. Lisa looks to create work that humanizes complex characters and pushes creative boundaries. Her recent award-winning films include Take a Walk on the Wildside and One Leg In, One Leg Out. Lisa has directed several short documentaries with CBC and Bell Media, a documentary series and numerous branded content spots.
Producer Lauren Grant’s Clique Pictures is a vibrant television production company that focuses on working with female creative talent in front of and behind the camera. They recently completed the feature documentary Metamorphosis, the short documentary One Leg In, One Leg Out for CBC Digital, and the Canadian Screen award-winning short Take a Walk on the Wildside. In 2011, Lauren won the Best Short Drama Genie Awards for the residential school musical Savage. The Hollywood Reporter named Lauren one of 15 Talents to Watch in their Next Gen Canada 2014 edition.
