It’s a mere week away now and as we anticipate the return of Danny Boyle’s infamous characters Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie in T2 Trainspotting, a new featurette has arrived.

The short video focuses on director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and his relationship with the actors involved, as well as his producer Andrew MacDonald, with nothing but kind words coming in the direction of the esteemed Brit. Clearly Boyle has the admiration of his peers and from the featurette you can see that all involved are doing it very much for the man behind the camera and have full faith in him.

Hopefully that faith emanates to audiences too, as it is certainly a big risk in serving up a sequel so far removed from its predecessor, but in Danny Boyle we have the utmost trust.

You can watch the featurette below.

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.

Twenty years have gone by.

Much has changed but just as much remains the same.

Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

T2 Trainspotting is released in UK cinemas on 28th January.
