New Trailer For Berlin Syndrome Arrives

We at Filmoria are extremely excited for Cate Shortland’s latest, Berlin Syndrome. So much so, that we named it one of our 20 Alternative Movies You Must See in 2017. Arriving online today is this fantastic new trailer for the intense captive thriller, which was a huge hit at both the Sundance and Berlin International Film Festivals earlier this year.

Starring Hacksaw Ridge‘s Teresa Palmer in the leading role of Clare, it documents the travels of a young Australian backpacker who falls victim to the charms of a local man in the German capital. After a whirlwind romance unfolds across one night, she becomes his prisoner, as he holds her hostage in a derelict apartment. Check out the chilling new trailer below.

In the new horror-thriller Berlin Syndrome, an Australian photographer Clare meets a charismatic local, Andi, while vacationing in Berlin. There is an instant attraction between them and a night of passion ensues. But, what initially appears to be the start of a romance, takes an unexpected and sinister turn when Clare wakes the following morning to discover Andi has left for work and locked her in his apartment. An easy mistake to make, of course — except Andi has no intention of letting her go again. Ever.
