Reese Witherspoon’s career has seen its fair share of comedies down the years, with Legally Blonde among her high points in the genre, while something such as Hot Pursuit would certainly be one we’d rather forget. Now she’s adding to her list of comedies as she stars in Home Again, a romantic comedy about moving on and new relationships blossoming.
Produced by Nancy Meyers (It’s Complicated, The Holiday, The Intern), Home Again sees Witherspoon’s Alice moving back to her original hometown following a break-up in her relationship, with her two kids in tow. One night, when partying for her 40th birthday, Alice meets three guys who end up securing a place to live – in her house.
Cue a whole new family dynamic, and some new relationships complicating her life further, all before her ex-husband (Michael Sheen) eventually turns up to spoil the party. Looking every bit the rom-com that many would expect from the leading lady, you can watch the trailer below.
HOME AGAIN stars Reese Witherspoon (Wild, This Means War, Legally Blonde) as Alice Kinney in a modern romantic comedy. Recently separated from her husband (Michael Sheen, Passengers, Nocturnal Animals), Alice decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her two young daughters. During a night out on her 40th birthday, Alice meets three aspiring filmmakers (Nat Wolff, Pico Alexander and Jon Rudnitsky) who happen to be in need of a place to live. Alice agrees to let the guys stay in her guest house temporarily, but the arrangement ends up unfolding in unexpected ways. Alice’s unlikely new family and new romance comes to a crashing halt when her ex-husband shows up, suitcase in hand.
Home Again is released in UK cinemas on 29th September.
