Soundtrack is one of the most important parts of any movie. Some of them are so catchy that they might become the most outstanding thing about the whole motion picture. Just remember how many times you started humming a melody from a film that somebody had just mentioned. Some songs turn out to be so great that artists who wrote them often post them on their music artist website pages.  Well, today we made a list for you of top five soundtrack melodies that you will recognize from the first seconds.

1. Sherlock BBC Main Theme

Yet another adaptation of this legendary character turned out to be the most successful one. Not only is that due to fantastic cast and clever integration of Sherlock Holmes’s character into modern reality, but also because of the fantastic and very addictive soundtrack of the show. It was written by David Arnold and Michael Price and is now one of the most recognizable soundtracks ever.

2. Harry Potter Theme

One of the greatest franchises ever must have one of the greatest soundtracks, right? Or at least that is what producers of Harry Potter thought when they invited John Williams for collaboration. When they were writing this masterpiece, they probably had no idea how popular it would become overtime. However, even though that most people know this track as ‘Harry Potter theme’ it is officially called Hedwig’s Theme, while the first title rather refers to all songs that were used in the movie.

3. Titanic Soundtrack

This movie is being called one of the most iconic in history for a reason. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet made sure that their performances went down in history. But there was something else that made people fall in love with this film. We are talking about its gorgeous soundtrack, “My Heart Will Go On”, recorded by Celine Dion. Though it was not written by her, creators of the song are James Horner who wrote the music and Will Jennings who is responsible for lyrics to it. Eventually, this collaboration resulted in this song winning multiple awards and becoming a true legend as well as the movie.

4. Star Wars Soundtrack

When it comes down to this franchise, there are only two options – you either love or hate it, there is no ‘in between’. If you are actually a ‘hardcore’ Star Wars fan, there is a big chance you are crazy about its soundtrack as well. Actually, there are more than just one of those, but there is a tune, that everyone immediately associates with these movies. We are talking about Imperial March. If you are not aware yet, it was written by John Williams as well, the man who is responsible for the mentioned above Hedwig’s Theme. The guy is obviously a genius and knows how to make a huge hit.

5. Ghostbusters Soundtrack

Even despite the fact that it had been many years after this movie was first released, this soundtrack is one of the most recognizable ones up to this day. It was written and performed by Ray Parker Jr. and was nominated for both Oscar and Grammy awards. The instrumental version of this song was awarded with Grammy award. Funny enough, Parker said that he had to write the song within very short amount of time, yet it stayed on the charts for 21 weeks.

Conclusion

So, these are the 5 most recognizable soundtracks out there. We tried to pick out the most outstanding soundtrack there are today, but there is surely so much to add to this list. Hopefully, these composers will create something even greater in the future.
