Denzel Washington is a man who has helped define this era of cinema with countless incredible performances through the years and he’s certainly not finished yet. A man whose career has spanned several decades, Washington seemed to be in the twilight section of his career, taking on the less punchy roles in recent times (remakes and all), but his upcoming movie Fences looks to put that all to boot.

Serving as both director and leading actor for the film, Washington powers his way into the new trailer, along with the equally stunning Viola Davis, as Fences slowly becomes the quiet Oscar contender as we slowly approach awards season.

The trailer is striking, with some hefty dialogue ensuring that this is a film that will strike our emotional cores and then some.

FENCES is directed by Denzel Washington from a screenplay by August Wilson, adapted from Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The film stars Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney.  The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Denzel Washington and Todd Black.

Fences is released in the UK on 10th February 2017 and hits the US on Christmas Day this year.
