SPRING BREAKERS Gets Two New Loud Posters

springbreakersposterThe dazzling cast of SPRING BREAKERS are back in two new loud and colourful posters that show all the assets of the film in bold and brilliant colour. James Franco pulls a gun sign despite actually holding a gun in his other hand and the girls… well the girls just wear bikinis and look pretty.

The two new posters are identical except for a switch up of colours and both very similar to the international poster we brought you last month. All have James Franco the drug dealing gangster type with epic corn rows, suspect facial hair and banging bling presiding over the titular spring breakers. The four bikini clad college girls are Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine.

Their state of undress is likely to turn on many people who see the posters but the garish colours and scantily clad women might also give some a headache. It all looks a bit simplistic and sexist but you can’t say they don’t know how to sell a movie to a target market of horny young men.

Spring Breakers is directed by Harmony Korine, the man behind the baffling Trash Humpers. It is the story of the pictured college girls who are busted after robbing a restaurant to fund their spring break. They are bailed out by Franco’s drug dealer, known as Alien, and then it all heads into what is likely to be a very quirky and barely clothed crime thriller.

It certainly looks like it isn’t taking itself too seriously with the promise of partying on be-aches. The Sunday Mirror call it the ‘coolest film of the year’ and with a corn rowed James Franco waving a gun around and four sexy ladies in bikinis on the poster, who are we to argue?

Spring Breakers is out in UK cinemas on April 5 and you can watch the trailer here.
