Michael Keaton has seen somewhat of a career resurgence since his breakout return in Oscar-winning Birdman and he’s certainly not stopped ever since. Having last year featured in another Oscar winner in the form of Spotlight, Keaton just keeps on racking up the big performances and his latest collaboration sees him teaming with John Lee Hancock for The Founder.
The Founder focuses on Ray Kroc, the ambitious and daring entrepreneur who turned the business of McDonalds into the multi-billion dollar company it is today. With Keaton looking like he is on scintillating form, the film also possesses one hell of a cast, which includes Laura Dern, Nick Offerman, B.J. Novak, John Carroll Lynch and Linda Cardellini.
Check out the new trailer below, as well as the film’s synopsis.
The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
The Founder is set for release in UK cinemas on 10th February.
