First Images Released for The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society

The first images from The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society have been released by STUDIOCANAL. The film is based on Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows’ best-selling novel of the same name. The images feature the film’s lead performers, Lily James (Cinderella, War & Peace) and Michiel Huisman (The Age of Adeline, Game of Thrones).

Lily James stars as lively journalist Juliet Ashton, whose life is changed once she discovers the eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. She decides to write about the book club they formed during the occupation of Guernsey during the second world war. Her first contact with the island, and the society, is with Dawsey Adams, played by Michiel Huisman.

Directed by Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and written by Don Roos (Marley & Me), the film also stars Glen Powell (Everybody Wants Some!!), Matthew Goode (The Imitation Game), with Tom Courtenay (45 Years) and Penelope Wilton (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel).
