Hidden-camera pranks are becoming an integral part of horror movie marketing, and few examples are more effective – and down right hilarious – than Paramount Pictures’ unsettling campaign for Rings.

We all know once you see the video, you have seven days before Samara arrives to take you, but what would happen if she actually did crawl from the television screen as we’ve seen so many spooky times in the films? Well, this gaggle of unfortunate electronic store shoppers are about to find out…

A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.

Rings stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, and Bonnie Morgan, and opens in UK cinemas on 3rd February, 2017.
