Sony Pictures and Vertigo Releasing have announced details for the upcoming UK home release of Snowden, the biographical political thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Directed by Oliver Stone.
The film, chronicling the controversial leaking of classified government documents by computer professional Edward Snowden – will be available on Sky and iTunes from the 17th March 2017. With the DVD release scheduled for the 3rd April 2017.
Snowden opens the door on the untold story of Edward Snowden, examining the forces that turned a conservative young patriot eager to serve his country into a historic whistleblower and posing provocative questions about which liberties we are willing to give up in order for our government to protect us.
From three-time Oscar winner Oliver Stone, Snowden is a riveting personal look at one of the most polarising figures of the 21st century, the man responsible for what has been described as the most far-reaching security breach in U.S. intelligence history. The film also stars Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson and Nicolas Cage.
