Filmoria has discovered that making a movie on an iPhone can be very rewarding, especially for Polish-born actor, and director, Adi Spektor (www.adispektor.com), who made his directorial debut in 2014 with his award-winning comedy horror short film How to Rob a House. The film, which was completely created on an iPhone 5s, first premiered at the prestigious 15th Annual Polish Film Festival in Hollywood three years-ago.

The award-winning smartphone short film, written and directed by Spektor, received yet more rave reviews just this past weekend, when it won first place for Micro Horror-Comedy at famed The Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. The festival, which has been successfully running for 22-years, screened the short-film on August 12th, with the awards ceremony taking place August 13th. 2017.

‘“How to Rob a House’ is my debut as both a screenplay writer, and as a director.” said Spektor. “When I began the movie process, I wasn’t sure how my vision would be received by international audiences. I am truly amazed at how much success this thriller-film has had over the years, on the festival circuit, all over the world.”

Since the film’s festival release in 2014, How To Rob A House was one of the top two finalists at the 4th Olleh International Smartphone Film Festival in South Korea, has won “Best Screenplay Award” at 2014 Cinephone International Smartphone Short Film Festival in Barcelona, the “Second Place Award” for Best Film at the 2015 iPhone Film Festival in Beverly Hills, the “Runner Up Prize” at the 2015 International Mobil Film Festival in San Diego, the “Early Bird Winner” of the 2015 FiLMiC Pro ‎International ‪‎Video ‪Contest, “Silver Stake Award” (Second Place) at the 2016 International Vampire Film and Arts Festival in Transylvania, the “Gold Award” at the 2016 International Independent Film Awards, and the “Gold Kahuna Award” at the 2017 Honolulu Film Awards.

Produced by Blue Phantom Productions in association with Vegan Cannibals How to Rob a House stars Dave Vescio (Hick), Amato D’Apolito (Hollywood Inc.), Peter Wrobel (Chasing Happiness) and Adi Spektor (Scandal). The film follows two thieves who receive a tip on a house that they can’t pass up. However, they become confused on the details, and when they arrive for the job the homeowner is there. Even their plan to escape from the house fail, and they are left to the mercy of the mysterious homeowner.
