James Gunn’s Slither Gets Blu-Ray Release

In a quite surprising turn today – Writer/Director James Gunn announced on his official Instagram page that his debut feature, Slither, is finally going to be released on Blu-Ray this year. 11 years after the comedy/horror first appeared in theatres.
The film was critically well-received, however it bombed at the box office. Amassing just short of $13 million in return of a $15 million budget. But it has gained much notoriety and popularity since, and is considered a cult film. The announcement comes in good time, as anticipation is through the roof for his latest film – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, which hits cinemas on April 28th in the U.K.
The Collector’s Edition, distributed by Scream Factory, features new exclusive artwork and other extras. Including commentary from Gunn himself and the stars of the film. Slither boasts an ensemble cast including Michael Rooker, Elizabeth Banks, Nathan Fillion, Gregg Henry and Jenna Fischer.
The only catch is that this only ties into the U.S release for July 25th 2017. So for anyone that isn’t fortunate enough to own a multi-region Blu-Ray player – it looks like you’ll have to wait a little while longer, before the other territories get their own release outside of the Region A catchment.
