Suicide Squad alum Margot Robbie looks to be expanding her dramatic reaches this year. Her upcoming appearances in Goodbye, Christopher Robin and the much anticipated I, Tonya – where Robbie will portray figure skating legend Tonya Harding – are just a few of the new projects the actress is attached to.
In reports yesterday, Robbie has been cast to star in historical drama, Mary Queen Of Scots. Starring opposite Saoirse Ronan. She is rumoured to be taking the role of Queen Elizabeth I, alongside Ronan’s Mary Stuart. The film will recount Stuart’s attempts to usurp Elizabeth from the throne, which culminated with her execution in 1587 after being found guilty of plotting to assassinate the Queen.
With a growing portfolio of diverse work, the Australian starlet is likely to make some steady waves over the remainder of 2017 and beyond.
British theatrical director Josie Burke is slated to direct the film for Focus and Working Title from a script penned by Penelope Skinner and Michael Hirst.
