Stranger Things Star Joins Godzilla Sequel

If there’s one original Netflix show that everyone was talking about in 2016 (and still now, to be fair) it was Stranger Things. In a time where cinematic shows such as Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead dominate chat on social media, Netflix’s own throwback to classic 80s properties somehow shoved its way in there and captivated audiences with its Goonies-esque approach mixed with horror aspects.
From the show blossomed some truly wonderful young talents and one of those that stood out from the crowd was Millie Bobby Brown who played the rather special and talented Eleven. Brown became an immediate breakout star as she portrayed her super-powered, awkward science project with the utmost brilliance and drew in audiences, and now she has been rewarded with her first big-screen role.
Brown will join the cast of Godzilla 2, entitled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which is being directed by the brilliant Michael Dougherty with a script from his Krampus cohort Zach Shields. Few details are known about the project so far but you can expect to see a bit more of the classic monster this time around following Gareth Edwards’ rather secretive show of the behemoth in the reboot movie.
The sequel will follow this year’s Kong: Skull Island before Kong and Godzilla collide for an epic movie showdown in 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong.
Stranger Things Season 2 is set for release later this year on Netflix.
