The Batman Finds A Director

Variety has confirmed this morning that War For the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves is in discussions to direct The Batman following Ben Affleck’s decision to take a side-step.
Although a deal has not been officially made between Reeves, Warner Bros. Pictures, and DC Comics, sources close state that the Cloverfield man is extremely likely to place pen-to-paper, and take the seat which’ll see Affleck Caped Crusader return after his stint in Justice League.
According to Variety, Affleck will still have a significant role in the direction of the film — the first solo movie to star Affleck as the Caped Crusader — after writing the script with Geoff Johns, but he will now have more time to focus on acting.
Reeves’ forthcoming sequel in the Planet of the Apes franchise is still in post-production, but there is every chance that The Batman will still go ahead and shoot this year.
