When the latest next-gen Star Wars title was promised a year and a half ago it promised so much to gamers around the world. Star Wars Battlefront would be the game that everyone wanted to get their hands on and experience galactic dogfights and ground assaults from the movies they know and love. Unfortunately, it fell rather flat, with no single player campaign and a rather generic and uninspiring online offering that led players to other, more substantial gaming options instead.

With that in mind, EA have gone back to the drawing board and have clearly taken in the feedback as Star Wars Battlefront II prepares for full assault. As Star Wars Celebration rolls on this Easter weekend, a brand new extended trailer has been released and it looks like a completely different game will be reaching us later this year.

Focusing in the main on the single player campaign that will be a big part of the game, the trailer showcases Empire Stromtrooper Iden as she experiences the fall of the Death Star and looks to lead a resistance following the events of The Return Of The Jedi. Cue notable characters such as Luke Skywalker and a hint of the Resistance, mass scale dogfights and so much more.

Along with showing off this new canon storyline, there’s a reveal that so many more universe characters will be featured as playable characters, proving that EA really are pulling out all the stops with this sequel.

Be surprised, shocked and excited with the new trailer below.
