While the blockbuster section of the film industry has somewhat left us desiring much more in 2016, it’s difficult to argue against the fact that there is still a ton of movie content out there that attracts, engages and affects us an audience in a flurry of power and emotion. One such film that surprisingly delivered such things was the Blake Lively-starring horror thriller, The Shallows, which was arguably one of the best shark movies in many years.

Capturing audience and critic plaudits alike, The Shallows is now primed for its home entertainment release just time in Christmas, and you can find out all the details below.

Synopsis:
In the taut thriller, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.
 
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Anthony Jaswinski, THE SHALLOWS was produced by Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem, with Doug Merrifield and Jaume Collet-Serra serving as executive producers.
