It seems as though Rupert Sanders’ toughest critic is also his most impressed fan. Ghost in the Shell anime director Mamoru Oshii has praised the forthcoming live-action adaptation, speaking highly of its lead actress Scarlett Johansson and indeed the motion picture’s visual craft.
Oshii joins director Sanders, actress Johansson, and executive producer Michael Costigan in this brand new featurette provided by Paramount Pictures International. Whilst we continue to wait for the first full trailer (please, can it just be the 13th November now? We need to see more of this movie!), you can give the behind-the-scenes video a look below.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost in the Shell arrives in UK cinemas on 31st March 2017 and co-stars Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Beat Takeshi Kitano and Rila Fukushima.
