Prepare to rev your engines as the new Fast & Furious movie has a title: The Fate of the Furious... Fast & Furious 8 Officially Titled The Fate Of The Furious

Because “fate” sounds like “eight”. Geddit? Unveiled by Universal Pictures today via a sneak-peek teaser for the forthcoming theatrical trailer, the latest addition in the Fast and Furious franchise will be officially titled The Fate of the Furious.

This isn’t the first time the series has served up an oddball title. We’ve had 2 Fast 2 Furious, and The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift, to name but a few, but this is certainly the silliest of the bunch. Fast 8 would have been just fine…

Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Eva Mendes, Lucas Black, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Kurt Russell will all reprise their roles for the new movie, whilst Kristofer Hivju, Scott Eastwood, Dame Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron are coming along for the ride, too.

The Fate of the Furious is scheduled for a global release on 14th April, 2017, with the full trailer arriving over the weekend.
